About The Job

PDS Overview:

The Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia seeks fall law clerks to work in several of our legal divisions. We are currently accepting applications for our Appeals, Civil Legal Services, Juvenile Services, Prisoner & Reentry Legal Services, Special Education and Trial practices. At this time we are not accepting applications for our Immigration, Mental Health or Parole divisions.

Required Qualifications:

Demonstrated commitment to indigent criminal defense representation or other work with low-income, low-wealth clients. If you have not had an opportunity to work with these populations please address that in your cover letter and discuss any skills that you believe are transferable to the division(s) you are applying for.
